When Professor Blake creates a pair of Ion Bands capable of granting the wearer invulnerability, super-strength and flight, he enlists the help of Sam Tyler to use the bands to help humanity. But when the Professor is killed, Sam is left with the only pair of bands in existence and uses them to become the heroic Dyna-Man.
